Vehicles!


Here is the first version of vehicle logic in Wicked Shooter!

Not much to say about this, it’s probably as you expect, you can enter into a vehicle with the Use key (F by default), drive it and exit it. You can run over enemies too, and you get reduced chance to get shot while in the vehicle. It’s not very polished yet, but playable enough for now, so I thought it would be a good time to release an update. More polishing and updates will be probably happening later, like exploding vehicle and reducing bugs and hacks (there are some hacks due to things in physics mostly that I couldn’t figure out yet).

Vehicle controls:

  • Use: enter/exit
  • Forward/R2: accelerate
  • Backward/L2 : reverse
  • Left/right: steering
  • Crouch: brake
  • Jump: handbrake
  • Mouse/right stick: rotate camera around vehicle

If you want to put down a vehicle on your own map, you can place a Metadata Component in the Wicked Engine Editor and set its preset to Vehicle, then the name string that you give to it will refer to the model in the assets/items/ folder of the Wicked Shooter content. You will need to configure vehicle physics for the model beforehand, and for that you can check the Content/models/vehicle_test.wiscene in Wicked Engine.
